Liability

The hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss of personal items from the hotel room, meeting rooms or public areas.

Adapters

The voltage in the Netherlands is 220-230 volts. Various adapters are available at the front desk for a fee.

Air Conditioning

Rooms at the Golden Tulip Leiden Centre are air-conditioned with individually controlled units. These units are exclusively for cooling your hotel room. Rooms at the Tulip Inn Leiden Centre are equipped with a centrally controlled top cooling system. The heater with individual thermostat can be found under the windowsill.

Bar

The Rubens Bar is located on the ground floor next to the reception desk.

The bar is open daily:

Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 00:00

Saturday and Sunday: 07:00 – 01:00

Cot

If you would like to have a cot in your room for your little one, please contact the front desk. There is no additional charge for the use of the baby crib.

Fire Alarm

When the fire alarm is enabled, you should leave the premises as soon as possible. In your room and in the various public areas there is a map with the escape route. Move to the assembly point in the parking area at the rear of the hotel. Under no circumstances use the elevators, but follow the emergency routes and use the emergency exits. Once you arrive at the assembly point, please follow the instructions of the employees present.

Emergencies

To report an emergency, contact the front desk via the 9 key on your room phone or the phone number +31 0 71 408 3500 on your cell phone. Calmly tell the receptionist the location of the emergency and the situation at hand. In the event of a fire, when possible, explain the stage of the fire. The front desk will then initiate the emergency plan.

Check-out

On the day of departure, we request that you leave the room no later than 12:00. If you would like to have a check-out later than 12:00, please contact the front desk to enquire about the possibilities. Please note that there is a charge for late check-out and can only be used based on availability.

Cash

There are a number of ATMs in the immediate vicinity of the hotel where you can withdraw or deposit cash with your debit or credit card. The nearest ATM is located at 159G Balloon Street. It is not possible to withdraw cash at the hotel.

Credit cards

For payments at the hotel, we accept American Express, Visa, Euro/Mastercard, Diners Club, Union Pay, JCB and Maestro.

Doctor

Are you in need of medical assistance? Please contact the front desk, they can refer you to the appropriate caregiver.

Drinking water

Tap water in the Netherlands is drinkable. Bottles of mineral water are available for a fee at our reception desk.

Email

You can send emails to our email address reception@goldentulipleidencentre.nl. Upon receipt, we can print your e-mail for you at no charge.

Entrance

For your and our safety, our entrance is closed from 11:00 pm at night until 7:00 am in the morning. On the left side of the entrance there is a doorbell, when you press it and state your name and room number we will open the door for you.

Bike rental

We rent city bikes and E-bikes at our reception. Daily rates are €16 for the city bike and €30 for the E-bike. Bike rentals are based on availability.

Fitness

You have the opportunity to use the luxurious facilities of the SportCity gym during your stay, free of charge. SportCity is located at the rear of the hotel at 131 Anthony Fokkerweg. To gain access to the gym you can pick up an entrance card at our reception, it is valid throughout your stay. You should bring your own appropriate sportswear, shoes and a towel.

Lost & Found Items

When we recover a lost item we will take it into safekeeping for up to 4 weeks after we find the item. Please feel free to contact our front desk if you lost any personal belongings during your stay. The hotel does not accept liability for lost property.

Green Key

Golden Tulip & Tulip Inn Leiden Centre have been in proud possession of the golden Green Key label since 2012. Green Key is the international quality mark for companies in the tourism and recreation industry and in the market for meeting and conference locations, which are serious and verifiable about sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), with care for the environment within their ventures and responsible towards the nature in their surroundings. Sustainability is a high priority for us, and we feel it is important to keep taking steps in this area.

Hair dryer

Each hotel room is equipped with a hairdryer, which can be found in the bathroom.

Hotel reservations

To create or modify a hotel reservation, contact the front desk by phone at 9 on your room phone or +31 071 408 3500 on your cell phone. You can also reach our staff by e-mail at reception@goldentulipleidencentre.nl.

Pets

Pets are allowed with a maximum of two per room. The cost for bringing a pet is €25 per pet per night. We ask you to keep your dog on a leash inside the hotel, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, however, your four-legged friend is welcome in our Rubens Bar.

Housekeeping

Your room is cleaned daily between 09:00 and 14:00. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please indicate this to our staff by hanging the “do not disturb” sign on your door. Housekeeping will then hang a bag of clean items on your door.

Internet

Golden Tulip & Tulip Inn Leiden Centre offers free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. All you need to do is select the network ‘KPN’. Then launch your browser, the login page will open automatically, you will then follow the instructions on your screen to access the network.

Two computers are located across meeting rooms 5 and 6 to use at your convience. To use these computers please ask our front desk staff for the access codes.

Lockers

In the rooms of the Golden Tulip Leiden Centre, you will find as afe in the closet. You can operate it with your own code, the instructions for this can be found on the inside of the safe. Guests of the Tulip Inn can use the lockers in our luggage room.

Pillows

You will find an extra pillow in the closet of your hotel room. We have a large selection of different types of pillows at the reception, including foam, synthetic and feather pillows. If you prefer one of these pillows, please call the front desk.

Minibar

You will find a minibar in the rooms at Golden Tulip Leiden Centre. All snacks and beverages are available for a fee at the front desk.

Emergency number

In the Netherlands, the emergency number is 112. From your room phone it is not possible to make calls to outside lines, please contact the front desk first via key 9, our staff will be able to transfer you.

Umbrella

In the event of rain we are more than happy to offer you one of our umbrellas, please rember to return it to reception once the sun comes through again.

Parking

Our parking garage is located at the rear of the hotel, on Anthony Fokkerweg. To use the garage, inquire at the front desk for your personal access code. The cost for parking is €17.50 per vehicle per night.

Plan

A city map of Leiden is available at the reception desk. On this map you will find all of the city’s finests sights as well as great museums and nice restaurants.

Mail and stamps

At the reception you can buy poststamps and we can send out your mail. We can also receive any incoming mail for you. The hotel does not accept liability for your mail or parcels. The hotel accepts no liability for your packages.

Our front desk is available 24 hours a day for all your questions. You can reach us by phone at key 9 on your in-room phone or at +31 0 71 408 3500.

Room service

Room service can be ordered throughout the day. If you wish to take advantage of room service breakfast, we ask that you have the breakfast card, which you can obtain at the front desk, filled in at your door by 02:00 a.m. the night before you wish to use it. Between 12:00 and 22:00 it is possible to order dishes from our room service menu and between 18:00 and 21:30 you can order dishes from our dinner menu. You can order room service by calling the front desk using key 9 on the in-room phone. A room service fee of €7.50 is charged for each room service order.

Smoking Policy

Golden Tulip & Tulip Inn Leiden Centre is a smoke-free hotel. This means that smoking is not allowed in hotel rooms, meeting rooms or public areas. If our staff finds that there has been smoked in your room we will charge a fee of €150.00.

Shopping

The shopaholic can indulge in Leiden. On the Haarlemmerstraat, Breestraat and surrounding streets you will find plenty of great stores. There is also a lively market every Wednesday and Saturday in the center of Leiden, the market can be found in the shopping area on the streets Nieuwe Rijn, Aalmarkt, Vismarkt and Botermarkt. The

Westfield Mall of The Netherlands

is also easily accessible, both by car and public transportation.

Taxi

Do you need a taxi? Our reception staff will be happy to help you with this by booking a cab from our reliable partners. We recommend that you allow for an average wait time of 10 minutes, depending on the availability of the taxi-service. If you need a taxi in the morning, we recommend to make a reservation the night before.

Toiletries

Did you forget to put a personal care item in your toiletry bag? Please call the front desk, we stock a wide variety of toiletries; such as toothbrushes, shaving supplies and combs.

Heating

The heating unit in your hotel room is located under the windowsill.

Visitors Centre

At the Visitors Centre at Stationsweg 26, about a 2-minute walk from the hotel, you can ask all your questions about the Leiden area and get inspiration to make the most of your time in Leiden.

Washing and steaming

From Monday to Friday it is possible to have your laundry and dry-cleaning cleaned through the front desk. If you wish to make use of this service, we ask you to hand in your laundry and dry-cleaning in one of our laundry bags, which you will find in the closet of your hotel room, with a filled out laundry list at the reception before 9:00 in the morning. When you drop off your laundry before this time you will have your cleaned items back the same evening, at around 7 p.m. The charges for laundry and steam service are listed on the laundry list, these charges will be charged to your room bill.

Wake-up call

You can specify your desired wake-up time at the front desk. One of our staff will wake you at the specified time by calling your room.
